Surpeme Pilates…

Winsor Pilates & Pilates Exercises for Everyone

Pilates is a wonderful exercise that is unique in its use of fluid movement to strengthen your core and create long, lean muscles everywhere else. Instead of the bulky, uneven muscles that conventional workouts make, Pilates uniformly stretches and strengthens all muscles evenly.

While Surpeme Pilates is my favorite, all Pilates uses a floor mat and equipment to focus on quality movement instead of the typical focus on quantity of repetitions. Developed by Joseph Pilates as physical rehabilitation, it focuses on making you aware of your body by emphasizing proper posture and breathing. There are a variety of different types of pilates such as Surpreme Pilates, but in general they are all wonderful and pretty cover much of the same movements and stretching exercises.

You can reduce the chance of getting hurt by practicing Pilates because it creates strong, lean muscles and increase flexibility. This reduces the chance of injury greatly by making you more resistant to muscles pulls, strains and sprains. This is because your muscles can stretch farther without injury. With conventional workouts weak muscles don’t get worked at all while stronger muscles get a lot stronger. Pilates creates an even tone that doesn’t neglect any muscles. Weak muscles are the one that get injured.

Another benefit of Pilates is that it is so gentle on your body that anyone can take it up. Pilates emphasizes low impact workouts that still provide a wonderfully challenging workout. It also adjusts the way your body normally moves to create safer and more efficient ways of moving. This gives you better posture and a more efficient way of walking that is less likely to lead to back pain or ankle and foot problems.

So while it was developed to rehabilitate people from physical injuries, it is also is great for people who want to prevent injuries. Pilates’ low resistance way of building muscle is great for people who have prior physical conditions, people who aren’t inclined to hard physical activity or even pregnant women. Give Pilates a try.
